As of 29th November 2021, we are continuing to ship as normal, with a few exceptions.
The Post Office is collecting from us as normal on a daily basis and to date we are not experiencing any delays at this end with collections.
We are working with reduced staffing, taking into account all of the Government advice to ensure safety. The only impact is that not all orders are going out on the same day if they are for customers outside the UK. However, for most of the time, we continue to pack up until 2.00pm, ready for postie to collect. As always, every thing goes out by first class post, small packet air mail or signed for post.
We are now using the new post office Electronic Customs declaration system and we are data compliant, which should speed delivery abroad. The good news is that the upgrade to the shop is allowing us to process orders faster than previously and should facilitate daily postage overseas once we come up to speed with the new integration.
We cannot be sure as to how quickly your orders will reach you. We are still seeing delays in some European Countries due to the lock downs imposed. There are still issues in some countries in Europe due to the changes brought about by BREXIT. As regards the rest of the world, USA and Canada seem to be back to normal. Post to Australia and New Zealand is still slow but improving. For more information, you can check the Post office site here to see how your country is impacted.
As regards the UK, post is flowing normally but can vary by area, depending on staff availability. We have some packets that are being delivered in less than 24 hours. Some are taking longer. Bear in mind that if your packet wont fit through the letter box, postie will knock but may not leave a card. He wont wait for long for you to answer! If you are at home, leave a note on your letter box to tell the post man where packets may be safely left if you are likely to be out in the garden or on the loo!
Re-stocks from suppliers are arriving but again, may be subject to delay. Our suppliers are working under the same constraints that we are, as above, so any ‘glitches’ in our inventory that occur take a bit longer than normal to resolve. We are hearing of shortages of raw materials – even plastic., that is causing a problem for re-stocks. Container freight is still affected by a lack of available containers.
The Business Centre that we work from has closed it’s reception. Because of this, and the uncertainty over changing COVID tier restrictions, we have closed the business to all callers. Customers are no longer able to collect their orders from us in person. We sorry if this causes inconvenience to some of our customers.
